Job Description

This position involves accurately obtaining blood samples via venipuncture and capillary collection procedures while ensuring minimum customer discomfort. The phlebotomist provides care to patients of all ages, ranging from infants to geriatrics, ensuring specimen integrity by adhering to the laboratory's procedures for specimen collection, handling, and processing.

Responsibilities
  • Draw blood and process samples.
  • Ensure specimen integrity by following proper collection, handling, and processing procedures.
  • Collect insurance information and scan insurance cards.
  • Input and update patient demographics, including contact information and address.
  • Enter billing codes and spin down specimens.
  • Coordinate send outs to other labs and CPL lab, print shipping labels, and box specimens.
  • Utilize software systems for processing and documentation.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in venipuncture and phlebotomy.
  • Five years of phlebotomy experience.
  • Certified Phlebotomist with Phlebotomy certification.
  • Experience with outpatient clinic/IOP settings.
  • Ability to work with all age groups.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Data entry experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Preferred experience in outpatient settings including draws and processing.
  • Professional demeanor and seasoned experience.
Work Environment

The phlebotomist will work onsite with two other phlebotomists. The schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5pm, with a 1-hour lunch break. The facility is located in Winder, GA, offering urgent care and primary care services. The environment includes interactions with a diverse patient population, including pediatrics, adults, geriatrics, and obstetrics. A professional dress code and a friendly but focused attitude are required to maintain a professional atmosphere.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and specific plan terms. If eligible, benefits may include:
