Job summary

Vitruvian Health in Cleveland, TN is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the Laboratory team for weekend shifts. The Charge Techs and Phlebotomists collect specimens with care, identify patients, and maintain accuracy in labeling and processing.

The role requires venipuncture and capillary punctures, strong communication with patients and staff, and reliable clerical duties. You will work with lab teams to ensure timely results while upholding patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma, GED, or higher-level education such as technical college, associate, bachelor, or master’s degree.
• Experience: Some phlebotomy experience preferred. 2 years of laboratory experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Licenses/Certificates: None required. Certification as a phlebotomist is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain specimens from properly identified patients (two identifiers: name and date of birth) including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
• Perform venipunctures as well as capillary punctures and heel sticks.
• Label specimens with patient name, date of birth, date, time of collection, and phlebotomist initials in the presence of the patient.
• Maintain confidentiality of hospital and patient information at all times.
