Job summary

UW Medicine's Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology in Seattle, WA seeks a Phlebotomist for the Specimen Processing Team at UW Medical Center – Northwest. The per diem position performs phlebotomy on patients of all ages, prepares patient and collection equipment, and instructs patients on proper urine specimen collection while actively interacting with families and staff.

  • Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except where a license, certification, and/or registration is required.
  • Current Medical Assistant-Phlebotomy Certification (MA-P) with Washington State DOH or obtain MA-P within 60 days of start date.

The UW Medicine - Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology in Seattle, WA has a fantastic opportunity for a Phlebotomist with the Specimen Processing Team at the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) – Northwest.

What You’ll Contribute
  • Prepare patient and collection equipment.
  • Perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages.
  • Instruct patients on proper collection of urine specimens.

What You’ll Need
  • High school graduation AND completion of a phlebotomy course.
  • Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
  • Legal Requirement: Current Medical Assistant-Phlebotomy Certification (MA-P) with the Washington State Department of Health OR obtain the MA-P within 60 days of start date.
