Job summary

The ideal candidate holds a valid Phlebotomy certification, has at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting, and is proficient with Microsoft Office. High school diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture and other specimen collection processes clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure 100% accuracy.
