Job summary

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers in Tampa, FL, is seeking a Phlebotomist Team Leader to supervise donor collections and ensure safe, efficient operations. The role requires leadership, strong communication, and attention to quality controls.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CPR Certification required.
• Valid driver’s license with LifeSouth eligibility; CDL preferred.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize.
• Strong interpersonal and team-building skills; effective written and oral communication.
• Knowledgeable in a variety of computer software applications.
• One year donor collections experience preferred; supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Oversee donor collection functions.
• Ensure all collections operations comply with LifeSouth SOP.
• Oversee, direct and monitor all activities of staff.
• Properly complete and account for all paperwork, test tubes and blood associated with Donor Collections.
• Ensure quality control on all blood collection equipment is performed and records maintained.
• Maintain stock supply in donor room.
• Display positive customer service skills to both internal and external customers.

LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is looking for an individual to join our team as a Phlebotomist Team Leader in Tampa, FL. This position is responsible for ensuring the donor center and/or bloodmobile operates safely, efficiently, and effectively.

• Maintain stock supply in donor room
• Display positive customer service skills to both internal and external customers

Qualifications

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, and volume and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• One year of donor collections experience preferred
• Previous supervisory experience preferred
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred

LifeSouth is a non-profit community blood bank serving more than 150 hospitals in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee.
