Job Responsibilities
  • Familiar with all clerical functions in the department.
  • Use computer systems for laboratory requests, accessioning, and other functions.
  • Maintain files of laboratory requests and test results.
  • Answer phones and greet patients and visitors.
  • Prepare samples for reference laboratories and process incoming results.
  • Monitor morgue activities.
  • Collect blood samples via venipuncture and capillary puncture.
  • Instruct patients on urine sample and drug screen collection.
  • Participate in training and supervising clerical staff.
Requirements
  • High school diploma required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a laboratory clerical position.
  • Ability to type 40 WPM.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Strong reading, comprehension, and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform clerical functions, recognize patient details, and use lab computer systems accurately.
  • Clear handwriting and good interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to computer programs related to clerical activities.
Hours and Shift
  • Full-time night shift, Sunday to Thursday, 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
