Description:
Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center, Hartford CT Inpatient Lab

You will be responsible for obtaining blood specimens, processing laboratory specimens for clinical analysis, and providing patient information to the appropriate caregiver. Your work is vital to the diagnosis, treatment, and care of patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Properly identify patients according to policy and perform venipuncture using standard or butterfly methods
  • Label all specimens following laboratory policy
  • Receive, cancel, order, and process laboratory/microbiology specimens

Work Hours/Shift:

  • 40 hours, Day Shift, including weekends and rotating holidays

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED; completion of a phlebotomy training program
  • Laboratory experience or clinical office experience with medical terminology preferred
  • National Certification is preferred
