Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm with 1-hour lunch break; possible weekend for client needs.

Travel is involved for client needs and may take 1 1/2 hours to arrive. Then leave at 5pm to travel back.

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week. The hours/location may change/vary based on business need and/or the request(s) of your supervisor or management.

Float Incentive: Additional $1.00/hr. plus mileage reimbursement.

Work Location: Columbus, GA

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Assembling equipment such as: tourniquet, needles, disposable containers for needles, blood collection devices, gauze, cotton, and alcohol on work tray, according to requirements for specified tests or procedures.
• Performing other responsibilities as required; work with and draw from a wide range of patient cases in a confident manner.
• Maintaining safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
• Verifying or recording identity of patient or donor and converses with patient or donor.
• Maintaining refrigerator and freezer temperatures.
• Maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy work environment.
• Comply with legal Phlebotomy regulations; handle urine analysis and blood testing; perform a variety of routine blood drawing procedures.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency is preferred.
• Previous experience as a phlebotomist.
• Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
