Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a PRN Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist at Allen Hospital Medical Office Building to perform phlebotomy and specimen collection using LIS and HIS. Responsibilities include order entry, accessioning, and report generation, with patient registration duties as needed.

The role requires 1 year of phlebotomy experience (preferred) and High School/GED; phlebotomy certification preferred. Training in basic phlebotomy is also preferred.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
• 1 year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Basic phlebotomy training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs specimen collection procedures.
• Processes and sends out specimen and body fluids.
• Enters orders.
• Performs accessioning, centrifuging, and aliquoting of samples.
• Generates reports.
• Registers patients.
• Provides basic customer service.
• Maintains inventory levels and stocks supplies.
• When staffed in Microbiology, culture setup and gram stain preparation as needed.
• Phlebotomist duties may be needed.
