Job summary

Wray Community District Hospital and Clinic in rural Colorado is seeking a PRN phlebotomy technician. You will perform venipunctures, blood cultures, and specimen collection with strict attention to safety and accuracy.

Requires a high school diploma or GED; Day shift with three shifts per month. Eligible for benefits including health insurance, retirement plan, PTO, and education assistance.

Qualifications

  • Performs venipunctures and skin punctures competently and expediently.
  • Assists in Clinical Laboratory as needed and understands test requirements.
  • Must be physically able to assist lifting patients and equipment.

  • Proper procedure of identifying patients.
  • Draw blood and label tubes with correct patient details.
  • Collect specimens, assist lab technicians as needed.
  • Maintain courteous and professional demeanor at all times.

Job Description

Performs venipunctures and skin punctures competently and expediently. Has thorough knowledge of test requirements, assists in Clinical Laboratory as needed. Responsibilities include bleeding time tests, blood cultures, blood samples. Participates in performance improvement activities Must be physically able to assist lifting patients, medical equipment, etc.Frequent standing, lifting, stooping, reaching, stretching.Requires good verifiable work history with references, excellent leadership skills and team player attitude.

Essential Duties
  • Proper procedure of identifying patients.
  • Displays a courteous and professional manner Collecting, posting, and preparing payments for deposit.
  • Drawing blood, identifying appropriate collection devices, labeling tubes.
  • Seeks assistance from laboratory technicians as needed.
