Job summary

Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO is seeking a Phlebotomist PRN to join its Laboratory team. You will perform blood collections, label specimens, and enter data, under supervision of a Medical Technologist, supporting microbiology, hematology, serology, blood bank, and urinalysis.

The role requires a phlebotomy course, possible certification after hire, weekend availability, and prior hospital experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Phlebotomy Course/Program required.
• Phlebotomy certification highly preferred, but can obtain once hired.
• One year of experience needed for interview consideration.
• MINIMUM 8-10 sticks per hour.
• Must have open availability for weekends for PRN.
• Hospital experience is highly preferred.
• Phlebotomy internship desirable.
• Larger facility experience desirable.
• Looking for trainable candidates with good experience and the ability to work as a team.
• Six months computer keyboarding or equivalent preferred.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Laboratory Phlebotomist performs collections of blood samples and specimens efficiently and appropriately following hospital and department standards and policies. Under the supervision of a Medical Technologist, the Phlebotomist may also performs routine technical functions, CLIA waived analyses and quality control.
