Corpus Christi Medical Center Bay Area is seeking a Phlebotomist (PRN) to join its hospital-based laboratory team. Under supervision, you will obtain and prepare specimens for analysis, perform venipunctures and capillary sticks, and support lab operations in a busy clinical environment.
Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of phlebotomy work experience, hold a Certificate In Phlebotomy or equivalent, and possess BCLS certification.

Under the direct supervision of the Phlebotomy/Lab Supervisor, he/she will obtain and prepare specimens for analysis and perform various screening tests as indicated. He/she is responsible for the collection of venous and capillary blood samples using various techniques (i.e. syringe, heel stick, venipunctures, finger (stick). Receive, process and distribute laboratory specimens, distribute departmental paperwork, and stock supplies as needed. Employee will be responsible for the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria for the neonate, infant child, adolescent, adult and geriatric population as it affects Phlebotomy. He/she will be required to maintain a professional and cooperative working relationship with patients, patients’ families, medical staff, and other hospital personnel. He/she must at all times verify patient identification at bedside, giving instructions to patients when needed, taking safety precautions during the handling of specimens and blood collections.
He/she must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required. He/she will perform tasks as assigned by the Supervisor within their scope of training.

Minimum Work Experience: Two to three years experience in a clinical/ phlebotomy setting preferred.

Certificate In Phlebotomy Preferred Or Equivalent Experience Preferred
BCLS certification required from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
