Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 2 years of experience in a like or similar position is preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology preferred.
• Advanced computer skills.
• Ability to communicate well with patients, family, peers and medical personnel.
• Able to read and understand graphs and performance improvement data sheets.

Responsibilities

• Collect clinical laboratory samples using skin puncture and venipuncture.
• Collect urine samples and perform specialty collections as required.
• Maintain proper collection techniques to ensure specimen integrity.
• Identify patients using two unique identifiers.
• Ensure proper labeling, handling and transport of specimens.
• Keep drawing trays and equipment clean and organized.
• Follow infection prevention practices and safety protocols.
