Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• Foreign education credentials require US equivalency documentation by an AHS approved agency.
• Minimum two (2) years previous job experience as a phlebotomist preferred.
• ASCP, NHA, NPA approved certification in Phlebotomy or defined equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately collects specimens following provider orders and SOPs.
• Accurate accessioning using HIS and LIS for patient registration and test entry.
• Labeling aliquot samples correctly and ensuring defects are corrected before proceeding.
• Demonstrates proficiency in HIS and LIS systems across job functions.
• Assists with training of team members and students.
• Provides compassionate, patient-centered care and addresses concerns using PRIDE and AIDET frameworks.
• Adheres to department safety procedures and applies proper safety practices.
• Operates and maintains technical equipment per SOPs.
• Maintains inventory levels and checks expiration dates of supplies.
