Qualifications

• Certified Phlebotomist with CA certification required.
• Knowledge of laboratory terminology, aseptic technique, and specimen handling.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures with proper patient identification.
• Handle specimens, centrifuge samples, and deliver to appropriate departments with proper logs.
• Know specimen requirements, including unusual specimens and reference test menus.
• Ensure AM lab work is drawn by 6:00am and first draw within 15 minutes.
• Collect blood cultures using aseptic technique per sepsis protocol.
• Enter patient data in LIS and document changes accurately.
