Location: 1555 Barrington Rd. Hoffman Estates, IL 60169

Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM; Weekend and/or Holiday Rotation

WHAT WILL YOU DO

  1. Responsible for collection of blood specimens.
  2. Perform laboratory office duties including:
    1. Registering patients and entering data into the computer system.
    2. Specimen accessioning.
    3. Answering telephone calls.
    4. Processing paperwork.
  3. Specimen processing duties including preparation of specimens for testing and/or for sending to the central laboratory or to a reference laboratory.
  4. Handle blood, body fluid, and urine specimens according to established procedures.
  5. Perform limited waived and specified non-waived POC tests as authorized by the Laboratory Director.
  6. Act as a driver and participate in the on-call rotation as required.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  1. High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  2. Previous phlebotomy experience and/or training is required.
  3. Background in a medical laboratory and/or knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
  4. Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  5. May be required to travel/drive to other locations.
