Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Completion of a Phlebotomy; Medical Laboratory; or Medical Assistant program that includes phlebotomy preferred.
• Familiar with medical terminology; computer data entry; organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains clean, organized specimen collection areas and restocks supplies as needed.
• Procures supplies for the department in cooperation with the team lead.
• Performs phlebotomy duties including venipuncture, capillary collection, and specimen collection for referrals.
• Prepares specimens for referral to outside labs including packaging and documentation.
• Operates the laboratory computer system for patient registration, orders, and lists.
• Performs standby/on-call, inventory, cross-training, and other related duties as assigned.
