Job description

Job Title: Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative

Contract Duration: 4+ Months

Pay Range: $22 - $27/hr

Work Type: Onsite

Location: Poway, CA

Schedule: 7:30 am - 4:30 pm PST, Mon-Fri

Job Description:
  1. The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the company to patients who come in, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions.
  2. The Patient Services Representative draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.
  3. The Patient Services Representative has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
  4. The Patient Services Representative will demonstrate Leadership Behaviors while focusing on process excellence skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
  5. Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time.
  6. Maintain a safe and professional environment.
  7. Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures with confidence.
  8. Maintain required records and documentation.
  9. Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Job Requirements:
  1. Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  2. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  3. Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
  4. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
Required Education:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
  3. Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Work Experience:
  1. Minimum of 6 months of experience required.
  2. One or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
  3. Customer service experience in retail or service environments preferred.
  4. Keyboard/data entry experience is required.
