Job summary

MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital is seeking a Patient Services Representative to support Lab Services, handling patient registration, order entry, phlebotomy and specimen processing. You may assist with specimen pickup, report sorting and delivery, and supply delivery, contributing to smooth laboratory operations.

A high school diploma is preferred with MA-Certified or MA-Phlebotomy eligibility; phlebotomy training and public-facing experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Current Medical Assistant-Certified, Medical Assistant-Phlebotomy Certification, or Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist eligible - must complete training within 90 days of hire.
• Completion of phlebotomy course or training preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Previous experience dealing with the public preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and enter orders for Lab Services.
• Perform phlebotomy as assigned and process specimens.
• Assist with specimen pickup, report sorting and delivery, and supply delivery.
• Handle location-specific tasks and maintain supply levels.

FTE: 0.88_, Shift: Days_, Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off schedule. Shift times are 4:00am-2:30pm Thursday-Tuesday.

Position Summary

The Patient Services Representative (PSR) is an excellent opportunity at MultiCare to support our Lab Services. In this role, you will be responsible for patient registration and order entry, phlebotomy, and specimen processing. You may also be responsible for specimen pick-up in offices, report sorting and delivery, supply delivery, and other tasks related to the operation of the specific location.

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off.

As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $24.40 - $37.14 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
