Job summary

Labcorp in Rockford, IL is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team. Schedule is Monday–Friday 9:00am–5:30pm with rotating Saturdays 8:30am–12:30pm. Perform blood collections, collect specimens, and ensure accurate data entry and billing.

Provide exceptional patient service and travel to additional sites as needed. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma/GED and 1 year phlebotomy experience; a phlebotomy certification is preferred or a training program from an accredited agency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year or more phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification may be substituted for experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
