Qualifications

• Six months phlebotomy experience.
• BLS certification within one year.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient flow.
• Perform venipuncture and finger sticks; spin blood and prepare specimens for courier pickup and testing.
• Perform dipstick urinalysis; collect urine and throat culture specimens and prepare for submission.
• Perform urine pregnancy tests and stool hematests.
• Perform testing such as ECGs, spirometry, holter monitoring, vision and hearing testing.
• Document and process encounter forms, lab requisitions and paperwork for billing.
• Label tubes, prepare labs for delivery to Central Lab Provider.
• Maintain logs for specimen tracking.
• Report lab results to providers and deliver reports from the central lab.
• Data entry into the laboratory computer and participate in special projects.
