Job summary

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Health Center is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the laboratory team. The role involves drawing blood from adults and children, collecting specimens, and performing basic hematology and urinalysis tests.

Responsibilities include maintaining positive patient interactions, supporting quality improvement initiatives, and adhering to safety and infection control policies. Strong computer skills and a High School diploma are required.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year experience as a Phlebotomist.
• Basic Computer knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, visitors, and other employees.
• Contributes to Performance/Quality Improvement activities and risk management/compliance.
• Able to perform blood drawing on adults and children.
• Performs laboratory work such as Hematology CBCs, Hematocrit, WBC counts, Diff, Platelets, Reticulocytes, ESR, PT.
• Performs Urinalysis: specific gravity, sugar, protein, acetone, microalbumin; stool tests and wet preps.
