Job summary

Labcorp in Decatur, IL is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our patient-centered team. Work schedule is Monday–Friday 8:00am–4:30pm with rotating Saturdays.

You will perform venipuncture, collect various specimens, enter data accurately, assist with billing, and maintain logs while providing excellent service to patients. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, and phlebotomy certification or equivalent training; 1 year of phlebotomy experience is preferred, with opportunities for growth

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist.
• 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency required in lieu of work experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
