Job summary

OSS Health is seeking a Phlebotomist to accurately collect and label specimens, verify patient identity, and ensure proper processing for transport. The role supports the health team and adheres to established policies and procedures to maintain a high level of quality and patient care.

You will participate in education activities, meet regulatory requirements, and contribute to a positive patient experience in a busy healthcare setting. Weekend and holiday coverage may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Health field education or related experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy skills required; certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains strong relationships with patients and staff.
• Greets patients warmly and maintains confidentiality.
• Registers accurate patient information and documents it properly.
• Places patient orders accurately and ensures order retention as required.
• Collects and labels specimens following established procedures.
• Transports specimens safely and timely.
• Reviews computer reports, resolves errors, and updates information as needed.
• Answers department calls courteously and provides accurate results.
