Job summary

Medical Diagnostic Laboratories (MDL), a Genesis Biotechnology Group member, is seeking a team-oriented Phlebotomist to draw blood, label specimens, and prepare samples for lab submission.

You will collect venipuncture and fingerstick samples, maintain specimen integrity with aseptic technique, and follow infection control standards in a CLIA-certified environment. High School/GED and phlebotomy experience or Medical Assistant Certification are required.

Qualifications

• Explaining the process of extracting samples to clients.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to adhere to government regulations related to healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples from patients.
• Label vials with patient information.
• Decipher the best method for drawing blood.
• Transport all specimen samples to a nearby laboratory.
• Maintain specimen integrity by using aseptic technique.
• Monitor glucose levels and record results.
• Perform venipuncture and fingerstick collection.
• Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards.
• Resolves unusual test orders by contacting physicians or pathologists.
• Update knowledge by education and professional activities.
• Adhere to hospital policies and JCAHO standards.
