Ellipse Diagnostics is seeking an Onsite Specimen Collector to join our team in Worcester, MA. This part-time role involves collecting urine and oral fluid specimens at client sites and ensuring accurate documentation and proper transport to the laboratory.

As the on-site ambassador for the lab, you will verify identities, maintain chain of custody, follow HIPAA and OSHA standards, and communicate clearly with client staff and our lab team to resolve issues promptly.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in specimen collection or medical/clinical settings preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification or experience is a strong plus.

Pay: $19 – $24 per hour

Position Summary

We’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Onsite Specimen Collector to work at one of our client facilities in Saddle Brook, NJ. You’ll be the face of our laboratory on site, collecting patient specimens, keeping documentation accurate, and making sure samples reach our lab in proper condition.

Responsibilities

• Collect urine and oral fluid specimens from patients according to lab protocols, including observed collections when required.
• Verify patient identity and make sure requisitions, labels, and test orders are complete and accurate.
• Maintain proper chain of custody and specimen integrity from collection through pickup.
• Package, store, and prepare specimens for courier transport according to lab and safety requirements.
• Enter collection data into the laboratory information system (LIS) or client portal.
• Keep collection supplies stocked and reorder inventory as needed.
• Communicate with client staff and our lab team to resolve order or specimen issues quickly.
• Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and infection-control standards at all times.
• Treat patients with professionalism, discretion, and respect, especially in a behavioral health setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in specimen collection, drug testing, or a medical/clinical setting preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification or experience is a strong plus.
• Comfortable working with patients in substance use disorder treatment settings.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills for data entry.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently onsite.
• Able to pass a background check and drug screen.
