Job summary

Henry Community Health is seeking a phlebotomy professional to support the laboratory team. You will perform tests as ordered by physicians and interact with patients in a courteous, informative manner.

Collaboration with nursing staff on requisitions and charting is essential, and you will assist patients and physicians with testing preparation. The role includes scheduling patients for testing and ensuring accurate information is conveyed to patients.

Qualifications

• Ability to read well enough to follow instructions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Moderate manual dexterity required.
• Certification as Phlebotomist (CPT) or MA credential is required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate laboratory tests as ordered by physicians.
• Provide friendly, informative interaction with patients and answer questions.
• Coordinate with nursing staff on requisitions and charting.
• Assist patients and physicians with testing preparation information.
• Schedule patients for testing.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with all personnel to facilitate the performance of laboratory tests as ordered by the physician
• Maintains a pleasant and friendly attitude with patients and tries to answer their questions to the best of their ability
• Interacts with nursing personnel in the completion of laboratory requisitions and the charting
• Assists patients and physicians in acquiring correct information about preparation for testing
• Schedules patients for testing

Qualifications

• Requires the ability to read well enough to follow instructions, write legibly, have good communication skills and a moderate degree of manual dexterity
• Must be a registered CPT Phlebotomist or equivalent
• Requires completion of a Medical Assistant training program or a certification in Medical Assisting
• Requires BLS certification
