Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of work experience in a medical facility.
• Phlebotomist certification preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and medical laws and ethics.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients
• Verify patients’ medical histories
• Preparing patients before drawing blood
• Explaining blood draw procedures to patients and answering questions
• Following all health and safety protocols to maintain sanitary areas
• Identifying best needle size and location for each draw
• Ensuring proper use of collection tubes and containers
• Proficient in blood sampling techniques and procedures
• Gathering medical testing materials including needles and test tubes
• Verifying patient information and labeling samples correctly
• Updating patient information in the database
• Helping nervous patients stay calm during draws
• Working with supervising physicians and following directions
• Analyzing blood specimens using appropriate testing equipment
• Cleaning, maintaining, and calibrating lab equipment
• Restocking the lab and ordering supplies
• Perform routine in-office tests such as glucose, strep/flu, urinalysis, EKG, TB test, remote monitoring setup
