Job summary

Life Line Screening in Milwaukee seeks an experienced Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant to join a mobile, community-based health screening team. You will perform venipuncture and related medical assistant duties at various locations daily, ensuring sample integrity and patient comfort while delivering high-quality customer service.

The role requires phlebotomy experience (1 year minimum), willingness to cross-train, and a focus on accuracy and safety in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Cross train and participate in all core Medical Assistant duties including Ankle Brachial Index, Osteoporosis, AFIB, Registration and Laboratory screening areas
• Review participant records for accuracy and completeness
• Conduct Venipuncture and finger-sticks as scheduled
• Monitor patients for reactions and ensure sample quality
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comfort while meeting customer service expectations
• Oversee sanitation and cleaning of equipment and work areas between patients
• Package and ship specimens to central lab daily where applicable

We are currently looking for skilled Phlebotomists/Medical Assistants to join our community healthcare team. Ideal candidates are currently working in the area of phlebotomy with a minimum of 1-year hands on venipuncture experience in a high-volume setting and have willingness to cross-train as a Medical Assistant.

What you’ll do as a Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant at Life Line Screening:

• Cross train and participate in allcore Medical Assistant duties including Ankle Brachial Index, Osteoporosis, AFIB, Registration and Laboratory screening areas
• Review participant records for accuracy and completeness
• Conduct Venipuncture and finger-sticks, where scheduled
• Monitor patients for reactions as well as ensure the quality of the sample
• Ensure patient confidentiality and comfortability while meeting customer service expectations throughout entire process
• Oversee and ensure proper sanitation and cleaning of equipment and work areas between patients
• Properly package and ship specimens to central lab on a daily basis, where applicable

What you'll need to be successful at Life Line Screening:

• Extensive work experience with customer-facing Medical Assistant and phlebotomy duties
• Precision phlebotomy skills with a minimum of 1 year of experience with adult venipuncture
• Experienced with centrifuge and separating serum and plasma specimens into transport tubes using transfer devices
• Skilled in inpatient or outpatient draw experience (hospital, nursing home, doctor’s office traveling phlebotomist, or draw center, etc.)
• Desire to provide unparalleled customer service
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Valid driver’s license and eligibility for coverage under the company’s vehicle insurance policy
• Strength in teamwork & collaboration; sharing responsibilities driving the company van, loading, and unloading equipment (up to 50 lbs)
• Certification in phlebotomy from either the ASCP, NPA, NHA or AMT is preferred
