Job summary

Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Chipley, FL is seeking a compassionate PRN Phlebotomist to join our Laboratory team. The Phlebotomist will collect blood and other specimens, ensure patient safety, and deliver excellent service in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

This role requires strong venipuncture skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with patients of all ages. Prior phlebotomy experience and certification are preferred, along with a commitment to HIPAA and OSHA

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a Phlebotomy training program preferred.
  • Previous hospital or clinical phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • National phlebotomy certification preferred but not required.
  • Current CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients of all ages.
  • Correctly identify patients using approved identification procedures.
  • Label, process, and transport specimens according to laboratory protocols.
  • Ensure specimen quality and integrity for accurate testing.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Practice proper infection prevention and universal precautions.
  • Enter specimen information accurately into the laboratory information system.
  • Assist with laboratory clerical duties as needed.
  • Stock supplies and maintain inventory within the laboratory.
  • Provide courteous, compassionate service to patients, visitors, and coworkers.
  • Follow all hospital policies, HIPAA regulations, OSHA standards, and laboratory procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Northwest Florida Community Hospital is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented PRN or "As Needed" Phlebotomist to join our Laboratory team. If you are passionate about providing exceptional patient care and enjoy working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Position Summary

The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting blood and other laboratory specimens from patients of all ages while ensuring patient safety, specimen integrity, and excellent customer service. This position works closely with laboratory personnel, nursing staff, and providers to support accurate and timely diagnostic testing.

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients of all ages.

Schedule
  • PRN or "As Needed"
  • Weekend, holiday, and on-call rotation may be required based on department needs.
