Job summary

Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture and skin puncture for laboratory testing across patient ages. The role includes clerical, data entry, and specimen processing duties in various lab areas.

The candidate will interact professionally with patients, nurses, and physicians and must have CPTI certification and California phlebotomy licensure. Evening shift differential applies with potential weekend rate adjustments.

Qualifications

• California Department Public Health State Phlebotomy License.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current California DPH Certified Phlebotomy Technician I Certificate (CPTI).
• Six months of hospital experience and/or be recently graduated from licensed phlebotomy school with a hospital intern program

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and skin puncture on patients of all ages for laboratory testing.
• May perform clerical, data entry, and specimen processing functions in multiple areas of the laboratory.
• Active interaction with patients, nurses, doctor’s office personnel, and physicians with proper phone etiquette and client service abilities.

Position Summary

Performs venipuncture and skin puncture on patients of all ages for the purpose of withdrawing blood specimens for laboratory testing. May also perform clerical, computer data entry, and specimen processing functions in multiple areas of the laboratory. Actively interacts with patients, nurses, doctor’s office personnel, and physicians, requiring proper phone etiquette and client service abilities. May perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

California Department Public Health State Phlebotomy License. High school diploma or equivalent. Current California DPH Certified Phlebotomy Technician I Certificate (CPTI). Six months of hospital experience and/or be recently graduated from licensed phlebotomy school with a hospital intern program

Salary Range

$25.30 - $33.47hourly.Salary will be commensurate with experience.
