Job summary

Aptive Resources, in partnership with Valor Healthcare, is hiring a Phlebotomist to perform specimen collection for Veterans at the proposed Yreka, CA CBOC, pending VA contract award. On-Site location in Yreka, CA with Monday–Friday schedule.

The ideal candidate will hold California CPT-1 certification, BLS, and VA credentialing readiness to commence duties under VA oversight.

Qualifications

• Current California CPT-1 certification via NHA (≥30 venipunctures and 10 capillary sticks).
• Current BLS certification.

Phlebotomist

Overview

Aptive Resources, in partnership with Valor Healthcare, is hiring a Phlebotomist to perform specimen collection for Veterans at the proposed Yreka, CA CBOC, pending VA contract award.

Location

On-Site | Yreka VA Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC), 807 S. Main St., Yreka, CA 96097

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 7:30am–5:30pm (Clinic Operating Hours); 8:00am–4:30pm Patient Schedule Hours

Primary Responsibilities

• Responsible for drawing blood and preparing samples for transport
• Operate under the oversight of the VA laboratory for phlebotomy performed at the site

Minimum Qualifications

• Current California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I (CPT-1) certification via NHA (accredited program, ≥30 venipunctures and 10 capillary sticks, exam required)
• Current BLS certification
• Demonstrated competency in venipuncture, specimen labeling, infection control, and safe sample transport
• Must hold a current, full, active, and unrestricted license/certification (as applicable to the position) in California, or otherwise meet VA Qualification Standards for the position.
• Must successfully complete VA credentialing/privileging review and a background investigation (cleared through OPM via the VA Security and Investigations Center) prior to starting work; PIV credentialing required.
• Must complete required VA mandatory training and maintain current licensure/certification documentation annually.
