Job summary

Qualifications

We are currently recruiting for a Phlebotomist to perform services at the Fresno VA Medical Center in Fresno, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

The Phlebotomist shall be responsible for providing routine and STAT testing on blood, urine, and other body fluid services.

• The Phlebotomist is responsible for collecting, transporting, processing, and evaluating specimen suitable for testing, including receiving, delivering, and storing specimens for all lab sections.
• The Phlebotomist shall provide routine and STAT testing on blood, urine, and other body fluid in support of chemistry, histology, toxicology, immunology, coagulation, hematology, urinalysis, and microbiology.
• The Phlebotomist shall follow all patient safety and infection control standards of care.

Qualifications:

• The phlebotomist must be certified to provide clinical laboratory services in support of the VACCHCS providers.
• Must have a minimum of 6 months of direct patient care experience performing venipuncture in a clinic or hospital setting.
• Have a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Must be able to pass a WJM and VA Medical Center background check.
