Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Clinical Support Tech at the Satellite lab to support specimen collection, processing and processing; perform waived and moderate testing under supervision, and assist with patient care.

You will work with main lab staff and providers, may rotate to multiple Satellite locations, participate in on-call duties, and uphold safety and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy experience or newly graduated from a college approved phlebotomy program.
• High school diploma or equivalency required per CLIA guidelines.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• EKG experience or completion of an EKG program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived and moderate complexity testing under supervision.
• Performs diagnostic testing of specimens and reports results to provider.
• Performs quality control and maintenance of instruments.
• Performs EKG procedures for outpatients and inpatients.
• Collaborates with lab staff, nurses and providers to ensure patient care.
• May require work at more than one Satellite location, holiday and weekend rotation, and on-call duties.
• Works with lab personnel to prioritize tests and complete all work.
• Follows patient safety goals and infection control practices.
• Perform phlebotomy and post-phlebotomy patient care.
• Uses reagents and supplies cost effectively.
• Responds to customer calls and reports results accurately.
