Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a dedicated Phlebotomy Technician to join our Laboratory Services. You will perform specimen collection, processing, and related pre-analytical tasks while upholding safety and quality standards.

Under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager, you will provide courteous customer service to patients and providers, manage specimen transport, and assist with LIS/HIS data entry to support accurate reporting and efficient workflow.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Phlebotomy Certification preferred or required.
• BLS certification required (or equivalent).
• Strong written and verbal communication, customer service, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle specimen receipt and processing with attention to quality.
• Perform phlebotomy using appropriate techniques and PPE.
• Ensure patient identification accuracy and proper labeling.
• Enter orders and results in HIS/LIS and resolve routine issues.
