Job summary

Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist - Lab in Colorado Springs, CO to support our client's healthcare team. The schedule is 8a-5p, Monday to Thursday, 32 hours per week with a lunch break.

This is a contract position offering hourly pay of $23 to $24.90 and weekly gross pay based on a taxable hourly wage plus lodging stipends per USA GSA guidelines. The role involves venipuncture, specimen processing, labeling, and ensuring specimen integrity while complying with OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Valid state phlebotomy certification where required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and other specimen collections using straight and butterfly needles.
• Collect, label, process, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens per procedures.
• Verify patient information, orders, requisitions, and specimen labels for accuracy.
• Explain blood draw and specimen collection procedures clearly to patients.
• Maintain specimen integrity through proper storage, temperature, transport, and handling protocols.
• Perform equipment maintenance, decontamination, and recordkeeping.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and complete annual department training.
• Answer calls and provide laboratory results as appropriate.
