Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist for the Allen Hospital Medical Office Building in a PRN, as-needed capacity. The role involves phlebotomy, specimen collection, and using LIS/HIS for order entry, result look-up, and report generation.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and 1 year phlebotomy experience; phlebotomy certification is preferred. Travel to off-site locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
• 1 year phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs specimen collection procedures.
• Processes and sends out specimens and body fluids.
• Enters orders accurately.
• Performs accessioning, centrifuging, and aliquoting of samples.
• Generates reports from LIS/HIS.
• Registers patients in the system.
• Provides basic customer service to patients.
• Maintains inventory and stocks supplies.
• Cultures setup in microbiology when required (micro setup).
• Performs phlebotomy duties as needed.
