Shift: Full-Time, Days

Position: Phlebotomist

The Phlebotomist provides general laboratory services, including specimen collection via routine venipuncture, order entry, blood component preparation, pre-analytic processing, and related clerical tasks such as entering orders, answering calls, and managing faxes. Responsibilities may also include patient and specimen registration and specimen delivery. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills and a compassionate demeanor.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program; laboratory experience or coursework in biological, chemical, or related sciences preferred.
• Valid Indiana driver’s license and a clean driving record for the past three years may be required.
• Understanding of Indiana traffic laws may be necessary.
• Proven proficiency with computers.
• Excellent telephone skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
• Potential involvement in departmental committees or projects to support department goals; details to be provided by consultants.
