Job Summary:

The Phlebotomist I performs daily phlebotomy activities at the Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-office Phlebotomy (IOP), accurately and timely. The role involves interacting with clients, patients, and PathGroup personnel professionally and courteously, performing forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established procedures.

Essential Functions:

• Greet customers courteously and professionally.
• Ensure accurate and timely collection of specimens.
• Explain procedures clearly to reduce patient anxiety.
• Dispose of biohazard materials in accordance with laws and policies.
• Complete requisitions accurately and enter data into computer systems.
• Research test/client information and match requisitions to specimens.
• Package and store specimens properly for transport.
• Maintain records and documentation diligently.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and data entry.
• Adhere to dress code and safety protocols, including PPE usage.
• Maintain a clean and safe facility environment.
• Contribute to a positive work environment and team effort.
• Follow all compliance, security, and confidentiality guidelines.
