Phlebotomist Instructor

Location: 838 W Drake Rd, Fort Collins, CO 80526

Pay: $20 - $24 an hour

Job Type: Part-time

Shift & Schedule: Weekend Shift: Saturdays, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

About the Role

We are seeking a knowledgeable, dependable, and student-focused Phlebotomy Instructor to provide comprehensive instruction in the art and science of phlebotomy. This role is responsible for preparing aspiring phlebotomists with the knowledge, technical skills, and professionalism required to succeed in the healthcare field.

The ideal candidate will cultivate a positive, structured, and safe learning environment while delivering high-quality lecture and hands‑on clinical instruction. This position requires strong leadership, organization, and adherence to educational and regulatory standards.

State Qualifications
  • Current Certified Phlebotomy Technician in the state of Colorado with a minimum of 2 years phlebotomy experience in the previous 5 years (venipuncture, blood collection, lab processing, and special specimen procurement). Must provide a copy of phlebotomy certificate upon request.
  • Hold no less than a high school diploma or GED and have completed a program of instruction at a recognized school in a field directly related to the program teaching. Must provide a copy of diploma or transcript upon request (Required to move forward to final interview, and be considered for position).
  • OR hold no less than a high school diploma or GED, and have a minimum of 5 years Phlebotomy work experience.

What You’ll Do
  • Conduct comprehensive instruction in phlebotomy, including lecture and clinical drawing sessions
  • Deliver curriculum content clearly and effectively to ensure student understanding and competency
  • Foster a positive, encouraging, and safe learning environment
  • Supervise students during clinical practice to ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Encourage and support students throughout the program to promote successful completion
  • Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization
  • Manage onsite inventory and supplies
  • Complete required classroom documentation in accordance with company policies
  • Maintain productive attendance and timeliness for all scheduled classes
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
  • Manage onsite inventory and supplies, including receiving shipments to personal address, maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting inventory counts, and ensuring precise stock levels to support classroom and clinical training activities.
  • Utilize inventory management system (Agiliron) to track supply usage, process inventory adjustments, and complete required documentation in accordance with company policies.
  • Maintain organized inventory storage areas, monitor supply needs, and collaborate with inventory managers and fellow instructors to support efficient classroom operations.
  • Ensure classroom and inventory areas remain clean, organized, and compliant with company standards.
Required Qualifications

  • Relevant occupational work experience in phlebotomy
  • Strong communication and instructional skills
  • Reliable transportation
  • A secure address to receive inventory shipments
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
  • Proficiency with technology, including iPads, mirror casting, and basic troubleshooting
  • Professional demeanor and effective classroom management skills
