Overview

Phlebotomist III Site Lead - Seminole, FL - Monday to Friday (Rotational Weekends) - 6:00am-3:00pm

Represents the face of our company to patients who come to Quest Diagnostics, either as part of their health routine or for insights into health decisions. The PSR III – Site Lead draws quality blood samples from patients, prepares specimens for lab testing, and follows established practices and procedures. This role involves direct patient contact, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence, and explaining procedures skillfully, safely, and accurately. The Site Lead manages daily activities at a Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP), leading more than one PSR on site, and may provide coverage at multiple locations.

The Site Lead ensures all activities are completed accurately and timely, demonstrates Quest Leadership Behaviors, and focuses on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy. They may work in various settings, including doctor’s offices, patient service centers, house calls, long-term care, or as needed. The role requires stepping in for a PSR II, leading on-site staff, coaching, mentoring, and onboarding new employees and clients. The Site Lead may also handle high-complexity and high-volume practices, requiring strong customer-facing skills, communication, problem-solving, and collaboration across functions.

Pay Range: $21.26+ per hour

Salary offers depend on skills, experience, education, certifications, and organizational factors. Successful candidates may be eligible for annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Collecting specimens per procedures, including drug screens and biometric tests.
  2. Administering oral solutions after training.
  3. Researching and verifying test/client information using lab systems.
  4. Accurate data entry, billing, and specimen processing.
  5. Performing clerical duties, maintaining logs, and ensuring compliance with policies.
  6. Verifying patient demographic info, assisting with statistics, and maintaining logs.
  7. Participating in training, team projects, and communication efforts.
  8. Performing Point of Care testing and mentoring new employees.
  9. Managing inventory, scheduling, and client communication.
  10. Ensuring safety protocols, facility maintenance, and SOP adherence.
  11. Leading and onboarding staff, assisting with office setup, and acting as point of contact on-site.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Five years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Keyboard/data entry skills.
  • Flexibility for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, clean driving record.

Preferred:

  • Medical training (medical assistant, paramedic).
  • Minimum 3 years in PSC/IOP environment.
  • Customer service experience in retail/service.

Physical and mental requirements include lifting, long hours standing, repetitive tasks, travel, extensive phone and PC use, and fine motor skills.

Knowledge and skills required include adherence to policies, effective communication, error-free work, independent work capability, excellent phlebotomy skills, customer focus, decision-making, and prioritization.

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Certifications: Phlebotomy certification (state-specific requirements).
