Job description

Phlebotomist III Float – Buffalo, NY (Monday to Friday, 4:45 AM–6:30 PM, with rotational weekends) is a phlebotomy float position providing diverse, dynamic work across multiple patient centers. The role offers a robust total rewards package and opportunities for growth.

Pay and Benefits

Pay range: $22.25 – $24.49 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Assigned a territory to cover phlebotomy duties within patient service centers or doctor’s offices, as needed.
• Draw quality blood samples and prepare specimens for lab testing.
• Collect specimens according to established procedures (e.g., drug screens, biometric screening, insurance exams).
• Enter billing information and collect payment when required.
• Coach, mentor, instruct, and advise new employees; serve as point of contact on site; provide regular input to the group lead or supervisor.
• Travel to additional doctor’s office or patient service center sites when needed.

Qualifications

Required Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).

Work Experience

• Five years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Minimum 3 years in a patient service center environment preferred.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.

The position requires effective communication in English.
