Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Falls Church, VA seeks a Phlebotomist III Float working Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with rotational weekends. The role offers a varied environment across patient service centers with opportunities to learn and advance in phlebotomy.

You will draw quality blood samples, prepare specimens for testing, enter billing when required, and mentor new staff. Compensation starts at $24.96 per hour with potential annual bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, WA).
• Five years phlebotomy experience including pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
• Minimum 3 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
• Customer service experience in retail/service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Draw blood and collect samples at Patient Service Centers or doctors' offices.
• Prepare specimens for lab testing and enter billing information when required.
• Travel to additional offices or sites as needed.
• Provide guidance to new employees and serve as a staff resource on site.
• Maintain quality and accuracy in specimen collection and documentation.

Pay range: $24.96+ per hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and certifications obtained. Successful candidates may also be eligible for an annual performance bonus.

Responsibilities

• Assigned a territory to cover phlebotomist duties within a Patient Service Center, doctor's office, or as business needs dictate
• Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare those specimens for lab testing
• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including but not limited to drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams
• Enter billing information and collect payment when required
• Coach, mentor, instruct, and serve as a resource advisor for new employees, and act as the point of contact to staff on site, providing regular input to the group lead or supervisor
• Travel to additional doctor's office or Patient Service Center sites when needed
