Job summary

Qualifications

• One year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Phlebotomist or Medical Assistant certificate required.
• Must understand medical terminology.
• Ability to safely collect venous and capillary specimens.
• Adherence to safety, quality assurance and regulatory guidelines.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient specimens via venipuncture and capillary techniques.
• Process specimens for analysis and enter test orders into the Laboratory System.
• Provide instructions to clients and patients regarding specimen collection.
• Handle telephone requests or inquiries related to orders.
• Perform waived testing as requested.
