Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and specimen collections using straight and butterfly needles.
• Label, process, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens per procedures.
• Verify patient information and requisitions for accuracy.
• Explain blood draw and specimen collection procedures clearly to patients.
• Maintain specimen integrity by following storage, temperature, transport, and handling protocols.
• Perform equipment maintenance, decontamination, recordkeeping, and patient information updates.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and complete required annual training.
• Answer telephone inquiries and provide laboratory results as appropriate.
