Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Phlebotomist II to join our Abingdon, VA team on a Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule. The role focuses on specimen collection, patient safety, and accurate data entry within established procedures.

The ideal candidate will have at least three years of phlebotomy experience, basic data entry skills, and reliable transportation. Competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits are provided for eligible full-time employees.

Qualifications

Three years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
Keyboard/data entry experience.
Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record, if applicable.

Responsibilities

Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening and insurance exams.
Administer oral solutions according to training.
Research test/client information and verify orders using lab systems and client contact.
Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
Enter billing information and collect payments following policies.
Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and transport preparation.
Perform non-patient facing duties such as inventory, stocking, cleaning, filing, and emails.
