BJC HealthCare System is hiring a Full-Time Lab Associate II – Phlebotomy for BJC Medical Group at Progress West – Specialist (BJCMG) Outpatient Office – Suite 206 in O’Fallon, MO.

$1000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates!

Position Details:
  • Full-Time
  • Day Shift Hours: Monday–Thursday (7:45am - 4:15pm) & Friday (7:45am - 2:15pm)
  • Early Friday Out: Enjoy a shorter workday on Fridays!
  • NO Weekends or holidays
  • Perform venipunctures and urine collections
  • Utilize multiple Laboratory Information Systems - Epic and Cerner
Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional phlebotomy experience
  • Expertise in blood draws & specimen collection
  • Excellent patient interaction and communication skills
  • Experience in one of the following areas is a plus: Phlebotomist, Lab Technician, Lab Associate, Laboratory, Blood draw
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose

Perform specimen collection, handling, and clerical duties. Experienced in phlebotomy and proficient in tasks such as central processing, in-office phlebotomy, or inventory management.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret physician orders and order tests in the system
  • Perform phlebotomy with proper patient identification and specimen integrity; work in outpatient labs, physician offices, or off-campus centers
  • Sort and process laboratory specimens efficiently
  • Prioritize tasks to meet turnaround times, including STAT orders
  • May perform registration, inventory maintenance, and other duties
Minimum Requirements
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED
Experience
  • No experience required or supervisor experience
Preferred Education
  • Associate's Degree
Preferred Experience
  • 2-5 years
Licenses & Certifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Phlebotomy certification
