Talentify is assisting a Clinical Laboratory in Laurel, MD in finding a Phlebotomist II. The role involves performing venipuncture, collecting and labeling specimens, and ensuring proper transport and storage of samples.

The candidate should have at least 2 years of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting, and be proficient with Microsoft Office. A high school diploma or GED is required, with health and safety regulations strictly followed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Experience labeling specimens, centrifuging, and recording maintenance data.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing venipuncture and other specimen collection.
• Collects and stores specimens per procedures; explains venipuncture to patients clearly and courteously.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and package specimens for transport as required by test order.
• Ensure specimens are stored at required temperatures and properly labeled for transport.
• Understand and comply with OSHA regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone inquiries and relay laboratory results as needed.
• Perform venipuncture and process and ship specimens to the lab.
