Job Duties
  1. Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams.
  2. Administer oral solutions following training.
  3. Research test/client information and verify all orders using lab technology systems, client contact, and approved tools.
  4. Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
  5. Obtain identification and accurately enter billing information, collecting payments as required.
  6. Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport.
  7. Perform non-patient duties: inventory, stock supplies, sanitize, file, answer phones, and use email.
  8. Follow departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
  9. Assist with compiling and submitting statistics and data.
  10. Maintain phlebotomy logs timely, including maintenance and temperature logs.
  11. Complete online and in-person training courses promptly.
  12. Travel to additional doctor’s office or Patient Service Center sites as needed.
Required Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical training: preferred in medical assistant or paramedic training.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience
  • One to three years of phlebotomy experience, pediatric experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience in retail or service environment preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
