Job Duties
- Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams.
- Administer oral solutions according to training.
- Research test/client information and verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems, client contact, and approved tools.
- Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
- Obtain identification, accurately enter billing info, and collect payments following policies.
- Process specimens: label, centrifuge, aliquot, freeze, and prepare for transport as required.
- Perform non-patient-facing duties: inventory, stock supplies, sanitize, file, answer phones, and email as needed.
- Follow departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Assist with compiling and submitting statistics and data.
- Maintain phlebotomy logs timely, such as maintenance and temperature logs.
- Complete training courses online and in person on schedule.
- Travel to additional sites as needed.
Required Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training preferred: medical assistant or paramedic.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience
- 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Customer service experience in retail or service environment preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.
